This is just a sample of what was in
Day 17 (yesterday) of our Advent Series,
which runs through Christmas Day.
There's short bits of text, lots of imagery,
and more, each day - Dec 1 through Dec 25.
It's all about Christmas,
and the Second Coming, and more.
Good Music!
Check Christmas Through Indian Eyes,
and then graze onward!

In the middle of the night
I heard the sports commentator
(or whatever he was) on CNN say:
"America worships its athletes."
The ringing of a bell sounded in my
half-asleep brain. WORSHIPS?!?
Oh yes, this deal, the SPORTS hero.
Not to be confused with the pedophile
pop MUSIC hero we just finished with -
(well, there will actually be no foreseeable
end to the wormlike pieline of crap praising
Pedophile Land's creator, and most fervent,
and public, promoter).
But Jackson and Woods. Worshipped.
Yes, it's true. It's also incredibly stupid.
America's obsession with dimwitted morons
like Jackson/Woods, and puerile pastimes like
the sport (SPORT???) of golf,
as the country staggers toward bankruptcy,
and a billion worldwide go hungry,
isn't just pathetically immature,
and irresponsible, it's deadly.
False idols come in many forms.
They say the PGA tour and its sponsors
will lose a LOT of money here.
Good. It's better spent elsewhere.
Screw the PGA tour and its sponsors.
Are there sandtraps in hell?
Unknown, but there's plenty of
them here - in the form of fire hydrants,
sleezy porn stars, bad judgement,
the jackals in the media,

"The Advent Series" begins tommorow on
the Man in the Maze website.
I don't follow the church calendar exactly,
or it would have started last week.
"Day 1" of the series is December 1,
and so on. It's just simpler that way.
The address is right here:

The presence of the divine Adjuster in the human mind
makes it forever impossible for either science or
philosophy to attain a satisfactory comprehension
of the evolving soul of the human personality.
The morontia soul is the child of the universe
and may be really known only through cosmic insight
and spiritual discovery.
The concept of a soul and of an indwelling spirit

is not new to Urantia; it has frequently appeared
in the various systems of planetary beliefs.
Many of the Oriental as well as some
of the Occidental faiths have perceived that
man is divine in heritage as well
human in inheritance.
The feeling of the inner presence in addition to the
omnipresence of Deity has long formed
a part of many Urantian religions.
Men have long believed that there is
something growing within the human nature,
something vital that is destined to endure
beyond the short span of temporal life.
Before man realized that his evolving soul

was fathered by a divine spirit,
it was thought to reside in different
physical organs—the eye, liver, kidney, heart,
and later, the brain.
The savage associated the soul with
blood, breath, shadows, and with
reflections of the self in water.
In the conception of the atman

the Hindu teachers really approximated
an appreciation of the nature and presence
of the Adjuster,
but they failed to distinguish the copresence
of the evolving and potentially immortal soul.
The Chinese, however, recognized two aspects
of a human being, the yang and the yin,
the soul and the spirit.
The Egyptians and many African tribes
also believed in two factors, the ka and the ba;
the soul was not usually believed to be pre-existent,
only the spirit.
The inhabitants of the Nile valley believed that
each favored individual had bestowed upon him
at birth, or soon thereafter, a protecting spirit
which they called the ka.
They taught that this guardian spirit remained with the
mortal subject throughout life and passed before him
into the future estate. On the walls of a temple at Luxor,
where is depicted the birth of Amenhotep III,
the little prince is pictured on the arm of the Nile god,
and near him is another child, in appearance identical
with the prince, which is a symbol of that entity which
the Egyptians called the ka.
This sculpture was completed in the
fifteenth century before
The ka was thought to be a superior spirit genius
which desired to guide the associated mortal soul
into the better paths of temporal living
but more especially to influence the fortunes
of the human subject in the hereafter.
When an Egyptian of this period died,
it was expected that his ka would be waiting
for him on the other side of the Great River.
At first, only kings were supposed to have kas,
but presently all righteous men were believed
to possess them.
One Egyptian ruler, speaking of the ka
within his heart, said:
"I did not disregard its speech;
I feared to transgress its guidance.
I prospered thereby greatly;
I was thus successful by
reason of that which it caused me to do;
I was distinguished by its guidance."
Many believed that the ka was
"an oracle from God in everybody."
Many believed that they were to
"spend eternity in gladness of heart in the favor
of the God that is in you."
Every race of evolving Urantia mortals has

a word equivalent to the concept of soul.
Many primitive peoples believed the soul
looked out upon the world through human eyes;
therefore did they so cravenly fear
the malevolence of the evil eye.
They have long believed that
"the spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord."
The Rig-Veda says: "My mind speaks to my heart."

The images above were created from
the photo at the top, utilizing a wonderful
little piece of software titled "Kaleider."
Inexpensive, incredibly versatile, and fun to boot.
If you contact tech support (by PHONE or e-mail),
Jeff Holcomb, the INVENTOR, is your advisor (??!!!??).
No, I am not a paid shill for the company,
I just love tools for the imagination.
"Kaleider" is just one of a number of graphics
programs that Jeff has developed.
This is real, real neat stuff.

I think that the Greenhouse situation is a lot like alcoholism.
It isn't one moment or one single drink that does you in. Can there be a single "a-ha moment' when you realize that civilization has moved from social drinking (of oil and coal) into a substance-dependent, blackout situation? As an individual, when you're on that slippery slope, there probably is some moment of revolt when your sense of dignity is offended. You wake up in a pool of your own vomit for instance, or find your clothes ripped off by some total stranger. Time to put the cork in the bottle. Find something more life-affirming to do with your time. Unfortunately our society can't rally the way a person can. So instead, we're ending up with these grotesque affronts massive heat waves, dying coral reefs, huge floods and so on, popping out across the face of the planet like an alcoholic's veins. But we're in denial about the Greenhouse thing.

Mankind's "stewardship" of the planet
is a horrible joke, but the joke will be on us.
It's just a question of time.

The Universal Father is the God of all creation,
the First Source and Center of all things and beings.
First think of God as a creator, then as a controller,
and lastly as an infinite upholder.
The truth about the Universal Father had begun
to dawn upon mankind when the prophet said:
"You, God, are alone; there is none beside you.
You have created the heaven and the heaven of heavens,
with all their hosts; you preserve and control them.
By the Sons of God were the universes made.
The Creator covers himself with light as with a
garment and stretches out the heavens as a curtain."
Only the concept of the Universal Father - one God
in the place of many gods - enabled mortal man
to comprehend the Father as divine creator
and infinite controller.
The myriads of planetary systems were all made
to be eventually inhabited by many different types of
intelligent creatures, beings who could know God,
receive the divine affection, and love him in return.
The universe of universes is the work of God
and the dwelling place of his diverse creatures.
"God created the heavens and formed the earth;
he established the universe and created this world
not in vain; he formed it
to be inhabited."
The enlightened worlds all recognize and worship
the Universal Father, the eternal maker and
infinite upholder of all creation. The will creatures
of universe upon universe have embarked upon the
long, long Paradise journey, the fascinating struggle
of the eternal adventure of attaining God the Father.
The transcendent goal of the children of time is
to find the eternal God, to comprehend the divine
nature, to recognize the Universal Father.
God-knowing creatures have only one supreme
ambition, just one consuming desire, and that is
to become, as they are in their spheres,
like him as he is in his Paradise perfection of
personality and in his universal sphere of
righteous supremacy. From the Universal Father
who inhabits eternity there has gone forth the
supreme mandate, "Be you perfect, even
as I am perfect." In love and mercy the
messengers of Paradise have carried this divine
exhortation down through the ages and out
through the universes, even to such lowly
animal-origin creatures as the
human races of Urantia.

The counterfeit nature of our economy
is troubling enough, given that financial
power is concentrated in the hands of a few
key players - "300 white guys in Manhattan,"
as a former high-placed executive puts it.
But over the course of the past year,
that group of insiders has also proved itself
brilliantly capable of enlisting the power of
the state to help along the process of concentrating
economic might - making it less and less likely
that the financial markets will ever be policed,
since the state is increasingly the captive
of these interests.
The new president for whom we all had such
high hopes went and hired Michael Froman,
a Citigroup executive who accepted a $2.2
million bonus after he joined the White House,
to serve on his economic transition team -
at the same time the government was giving
Citigroup a massive bailout.
Then, after promising to curb the influence
of lobbyists, Obama hired a former Goldman
Sachs lobbyist, Mark Patterson, as chief of staff
at the Treasury. He hired another Goldmanite,
Gary Gensler, to police the commodities markets.
He handed control of the Treasury and Federal
Reserve over to Geithner and Bernanke,
a pair of stooges who spent their whole careers
being bellhops for New York bankers.
And on the first anniversary of the collapse
of Lehman Brothers, when he finally came to
Wall Street to promote "serious financial
reform," his plan proved to be so completely
absent of balls that the share prices of
the major banks soared at the news.
The nation's largest financial players are
able to write the rules for their own businesses
and brazenly steal billions under the noses
of regulators, and nothing is done about it.
A thing so fundamental to civilized society
as the integrity of a stock, or a mortgage note,
or even a U.S. Treasury bond, can no longer
be protected, not even in a crisis, and a crime
as vulgar and conspicuous as counterfeiting
can take place on a systematic level for years
without being stopped, even after it begins
to affect the modern-day equivalents of the
Rockefellers and the Carnegies.
What 10 years ago was a cheap stockfraud
scheme for second-rate grifters in Brooklyn
has become a major profit center for Wall Street.
Our burglar class now rules the national economy.
And no one is trying to stop them.

. . .

In those particular sections of
which discuss mankind's racial makeup
and early development, it states that Pacific
Islanders - referred to as "the brown man" - were
a combination of the red and yellow races.
This so-called "brown man" is "kin" to
Native Americans, they're cousins in a way.
The relatively pure strains of the red man were
forced out of Asia by the yellow man, and came
across the Bering Strait to populate the America's.
But this amalgamation of the red and yellow races,
this "brown man," was also driven out, and headed
to the east, eventually populating the islands
and peninsulas of the Pacific.
When I was in the Pacific Islands in the 90's, one of
the first things that struck me was how much some
Islanders resemble American Indians in physical
characteristics, particularly facial. I had served
as a press liaison at four conventions of the NCAI,
the National Congress of American Indians,
the oldest and largest of Indian organizations.
There were over 350 tribes/reservations
that were members. I had seen a LOT of Indians,
and while in the Pacific I kept thinking that I was
seeing a lot more of them.
Anyhow, when I was looking through a book
(LIFE PRAYERS, 1996, HarperSanFrancisco)
of prayers, poems, etc. about the human journey,
looking for something appropriate to the disaster
in Samoa, I came across this:
Weep, my unfortunate people!
All this you will see take place.
Weep, my unfortunate people!
For the waters will overwhelm the land.
Weep, my unhappy relatives!
You will learn all.
Weep, my unfortunate relatives!
You will learn all.
The waters will overwhelm the mountains.
Pima Song
It should be noted that the Pima Indians
live in southern Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert,
far, far away from "the waters."
Of course, some might read this as a prophecy
regarding global warming, as well as tsunamis.
Whatever, it's all "end times" stuff.
The fact that it has origin in a desert culture
however, is mind-boggling, if not
downright spooky.
What did you just say? There's no connection
whatsoever between any of this?
Oh, O.K.
