"I BELIEVE" - FAITH ON VINYL

.
.
"I Believe" is the name of a popular song
written by Ervin Drake, Irvin Graham, Jimmy Shirl
and Al Stillman in 1953.
.
"I Believe" was commissioned and introduced
by Jane Froman on her television show, and became the first hit song ever introduced on TV. Froman, troubled by the uprising of the Korean War in 1952 so soon after World War II, asked Drake, Graham, Shirl and Stillman to compose a song that would offer hope and faith to the populace. In addition to Froman,
"I Believe" has been recorded by many others, and has become both a popular and religious standard.
.
Frankie Laine had the big hit version of the song,
which still holds the record for the most weeks spent at
number one in the UK Singles Chart.

.
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows,
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come to show the way,
I believe, I believe.

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer
Will still be heard,
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word,
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe.

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe.
