OIL SPILL UPDATE

.

.
Some estimates of the daily output gushing
into the ocean 5,000 ft. below the surface are now
over 200,000 gallons per day - and higher.
The U.S. military has entered the scenario,
as the disaster will enter a new phase this weekend,
when at least some oil will begin to arrive
at the coastal islands and marshes
off the Louisiana coast.
Burning off the oil, dispersion techniques,
the placement of enormous containment booms,
and planning for bird and amphibian rescue efforts,
are all currently underway.
British Petroleum, operator of the rig,
has an absolutely pathetic track record
for safety (the lack thereof), accidents,
and miscellaneous stupidity,
but a gorgeous balance sheet -
a trading market whore masquerading
as the Money-Queen of the British Empire,
that ancient pile of shit the Americans kicked
the hell out of here, back when, as they say,
and drove back to Jolly Olde England, for
some tea, and time to think up new strategies.
"By George, I've GOT IT, old chap!
Let's get into this off-shore oil thing!
Why, what with our connections with
Senator Blowhard and Congressman Scumbag,
we could make a sultan's ransom!!!
And who's the worst for it, tell me?
Rule, Britannia! Rule the waves!!!"
Capitalistic slut-pigs from hell.
Dickens had it all correct.
None of these people stand a chance,
not in the BIG picture,
not unless they start acting like Ebenezer,
the reformed version. Fat chance.
This time, WHIP 'EM!! HARD!!! HARDER!!!!
The Brits like that kind of stuff.
"You've been so naughty, naughty, naughty!
I'll have to spank you now, oh my!!
Pull down your soiled shorts, so little
Bobby's nannie can do what she must!"
(short pause here)
"Oh My, My!! I just love your profit margin!!!
Is it always this BIG??"
But switch the riding crop to federal fines.
BP should pay, and pay, and pay, and...
until that profit margin becomes a little limp,
deflated, tiny thing that more suits the general image
the world has of the Brits and Queen-lovers,
with all of their social/psycho/sexual problems.
They're screwed up, and have been for centuries.
BP is just the latest in a long line of pigs.
Talk to Saint Thomas Becket.
Talk to Gandhi.
Talk to the Irish.

OIL DRILLING PLATFORM DISASTER

.
The oil spill coming from 5,000 ft. below the surface
is the light gray irregular shape off the coast near the
Mississippi delta - now about 40 miles away from
the Delta and Breton National Wildlife Refuges.
.

 .
Bad place, bad time. One of the nation's most fragile ecosystems, southern Louisiana and the Mississippi delta region, is under threat of being "gooified" by the oil spill, gushing 42,000 gallons a day, right during breeding season for shore-birds and other waterfowl, fish, and  amphibians.  British Petroleum, operator of the aptly named drilling platform "Deepwater Horizon," (the rig's horizon is deep in deepwater now) yesterday reported record earnings of 5.6 billiondollars in the first three months of the year.
"I say old chap, good show, and all that -
just an absolutely stunning performance!
Bravo!!"
The brown pelican, which not long ago got removed
from the "endangered" list, is a major character
in these islands and coastal byways. It was efforts made
for the brown pelicans' welfare and survival over
a hundred years ago in Florida that led to
the establishment of the
national wildlife refuge system.
Breton is the second oldest refuge in the
system, created in 1904.

EARTH DAY 2010 - LOST IN A LOST WORLD

.
This isn't really a "video" so much,
as it is a song by The Moody Blues with
simply a title and the album jacket for visuals -
I didn't have time to edit something
more interesting.
But I thought the song was important
to play - today of all days.
The environmental movement battles still
go on, but the war is now basically lost.
As to why it was lost, and what it means,
will be addressed in coming posts.
The song is "Lost In A Lost World,"
written by Mike Pinder.

IN PASSING....

.

Three friends from the local congregation
were asked, "When you're in your casket and
friends and congregation members are mourning
over you, what would you like them to say?"
Artie answered: "I would like them to say that
I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual
leader, and a great family man."
Eugene commented: "I would like them to say
that I was a wonderful teacher and servant
of God who made a huge difference in
people's lives."
Carl said: "I'd like them to say
'Look, he's moving!'"

DARKNESS AND SILENCE

.
.
Everything has its wonders,
even darkness and silence.
And I learn,
whatever state I may be in,
therein to be content.

GOLDMAN SACHS AND PSALM 28

.

.

.

.
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock;
be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me,
I become like them that go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications,
when I cry unto thee, when I lift up
my hands toward thy holy oracle.
Draw me not away with the wicked,
and with the workers of iniquity,
which speak peace to their neighbors,
but mischief is in their hearts.
Give them according to their deeds,
and according to the wickedness
of their endeavors: give them
after the work of their hands;
render to them their desert.
Because they regard not the
works of the Lord,
nor the operation of his hands,
he shall destroy them,
and not build them up.
Blessed be the Lord,
because he hath heard the
voice of my supplications.

A CHILD'S VOLCANO POEM & PAINTING

.

.
Violent eruptions renewing the earth
Objects melting from the boiling liquid
Lava flowing, destroying everything in its path
Carnage rages in nearby cities
Actions are taken, some foolish, some wise
Nothing else on Earth can match its strength
Observers watch in wonder and awe

FROM THE I CHING

.

Heaven within the mountain:
The image of
THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself
with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.
*
Heaven within the mountain points to
hidden treasures. In the words and deeds
of the past there lies hidden a treasure
that men may use to strengthen and
elevate their own characters.
The way to study the past is not
to confine oneself to mere knowledge
of history, but, through application of
this knowledge, to give actuality
to the past.

THE INHERENT VALUE OF SILENCE

.

The first American mingled with his pride
a singular humility. Spiritual arrogance was
foreign to his nature and teaching.
He never claimed that the power
of articulate speech was proof of
superiority over the dumb creation;
on the other hand, it is to him
a perilous gift. He believes profoundly
in silence - the sign of a perfect equilibrium.
Silence is the absolute poise or
balance of body, mind, and spirit.
The man who preserves his selfhood
ever calm and unshaken by the storms
of existence - not a leaf, as it were,
astir on the tree; not a ripple upon the
surface of shining pool - his, in the mind
of the unlettered sage, is the ideal attitude
and conduct of life.
If you ask him: "What is silence?"
he will answer: "It is the Great Mystery!"
"The holy silence is his voice!"
If you ask: "What are the fruits of silence?"
he will say: "They are self-control,
true courage or endurance, patience,
dignity, and reverence.
Silence is the corner-stone of character."
"Guard your tongue in youth," said
the old chief Wabashaw, "and in age you
may mature a thought that will be
of service to your people."

FIRE BENEDICT NOW!

.

Dump him!!!
The Church doesn't need these guys
who either moved the thousands of
pedophiles around (Bishops) or guys up
the ladder who actively worked to cover up
the worst scandal in church history
(Vatican liars).
God will judge them all.
But think of this.
If giving bad example to the young
is behavior where you are better off having a
millstone tied around your neck, and
cast into the sea, well then, when you're dealing
with pedophilia, child beating, and similar
atrocities, committed by church "clerics" and
servants of God, certainly due to the
horribly incestuous nature of the crime,
where the victim is so psychologically thrown
out of whack, that they often become the new
perpetrator, then the bishops and Vatican
officials who let "Father Dan" move on,
are going to fry like Kentucky Fried.
Think. Who are the
worst in this case?

SEND IN THE CLOWNS!

I remain just one thing, and one thing only,
and that is a clown.
It places me on a far higher plane
than any politician.

ONE STEP INTO THE LIGHT

.

.

.

.

.

.
.

.
One step into the light
One step away from night
It's the hardest step you're gonna take
The ship to take you there
Is waiting at the head
Of the stairs that lead up through your
opened mind
.
Above the dark despair
Shines a light that we can share
Close your eyes and look up in between
your brows
Then slowly breathing in
Feel the LIFE FORCE streaming in
Hold it there
Then send it back to him
.
All the old things are returning
Cosmic circles ever turning
All the truth we've been yearning for
Life is our saviour, saviour, saviour,
save your soul
.
The river of LIVING BREATH
Is flowing through the SUN
He was there before the earth began
The world will drag on you
Use his love to pull you through
Find the mission of YOUR LIFE and
start to BE
.
All the old things are returning
Cosmic circles ever turning
All the truth we've been yearning for
Life is our saviour, saviour, saviour,
save your soul
.
There's one thing I can do
Play my Mellotron for you
Try to blow away your city blues
Your dreams are not unfound
Get your feet back on the ground
The TRUTH will set us FREE,
we cannot lose
We cannot love, we just have to CHOOSE
